Daily Classroom Rules and Procedures

Daily routines provide consistency and structure for the elementary school student. This technique will scaffold students to become independent and accountable for their belongings, classroom materials and self. Routines reinforce personal responsibility and are important to prepare the students for the school day. Routines and procedures let students transition themselves in the classroom.

After discussed with the class, the daily procedures should are listed on a chart in the room in a place where it can be viewed as soon as the students enter. This will serve as a visual reminder of their morning responsibilities and what they need to do as soon as they enter the classroom. The chart will help prepare the students for the day. The routines will help the students settle in and hand in any important paperwork such as notes from home or homework.  It will also familiarize the students will their new classroom environment during the first few weeks of school.
